Job Title: Engineer – Quality Assurance (Incoming Quality Control)

Job Summary:
The Engineer - Quality Assurance (Incoming/Supplier Quality Control) will be responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming materials and components from suppliers, maintaining compliance with IATF 16949 standards, and driving supplier quality improvements. The role requires expertise in electronic component inspection, supplier audits, and defect analysis, ensuring that only high-quality materials enter production.
Key Responsibilities:
Incoming Material Inspection:
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming electronic components, PCBs, plastic parts, and RF modules.
- Use CMM, X-ray inspection, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other quality tools for testing.
Supplier Quality Management:
- Evaluate and audit suppliers based on IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Drive supplier corrective actions through 8D, 5Why, and CAPA methodologies.
- Maintain supplier scorecards and conduct performance reviews.
Defect Analysis & Non-Conformance Handling:
- Investigate non-conforming materials and initiate MRB (Material Review Board) actions.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with suppliers.
- Work with production and design teams to resolve recurring quality issues.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, and MSA for supplier parts.
- Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards and customer requirements.
- Maintain records of incoming inspections, NCRs, and supplier audits.
Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance:
- Drive supplier development programs to enhance material quality.
- Participate in internal audits, quality meetings, and cross-functional problem-solving teams.
- Support cost reduction and yield improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication or Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
- Experience: 2–5 years in Incoming Quality Control (IQC) or Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) in an EMS or automotive electronics manufacturing environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Understanding of RF components, PCBs, SMT processes, plastic molding, and automotive quality standards.

Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Electronic Components & PCB Assemblies – Understanding of passive and active components used in automotive electronics.
- Incoming Inspection & Testing – Proficiency in inspection techniques, measurement tools, and testing methods for electronic components.
- Quality Standards & Compliance – Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 quality management systems.
- Problem-Solving Techniques – Application of 8D, 5Why, Fishbone Analysis, and CAPA for defect analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) & Data Analysis – Ability to analyze quality trends, supplier performance, and inspection data using tools like Minitab or Excel.
- Material & Process Knowledge – Understanding of plastic injection molding, die-casting, SMT, and RF testing for shark fin antennas.
- PPAP & APQP Documentation – Experience in FMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow, and MSA for supplier qualification.
- Non-Conformance & Deviation Management – Handling supplier NCRs, rejections, and MRB (Material Review Board) decisions.
- Hands-on with Quality Tools – Exposure to GD&T, CMM, X-ray inspection, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers for defect detection.
Soft Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal teams.
- Precision in quality checks and documentation.
