Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Surface Preparation:

   • Clean and level the surface to be tiled.

   • Remove old flooring or wall coverings when necessary.

   • Apply waterproofing or other necessary surface treatments.

2. Layout Planning:

   • Measure and mark surfaces according to layout plans.

   • Determine the best pattern and layout to minimize waste and ensure aesthetics.

   • Cut tiles to fit around obstacles and edges using hand and power tools.

3. Tile Installation:

   • Mix and apply mortar, adhesives, or other bonding agents.

   • Set tiles in place and align them properly using spacers and levels.

   • Tap tiles to ensure a solid bond and remove air pockets.

4. Grouting and Finishing:

   • Apply grout between tiles and wipe off excess.

   • Clean and polish finished surfaces.

   • Apply sealants when necessary.

5. Repair and Maintenance:

   • Replace cracked or broken tiles.

   • Re-grout or reseal surfaces as needed.

6. Tool and Equipment Handling:

   • Maintain and clean tools (e.g., tile cutters, trowels, grout floats).

   • Ensure safe use of all materials and tools.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints or drawings.

• Work closely with contractors, architects, and clients.

• Ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
