Transport Executive - Mumbai

Job Description:

Identify, onboard, and maintain strong relationships with transport vendors, fleet
owners, and brokers.
● Negotiate competitive rates and contracts for FTL movement
● Build leasing / dedicated vehicle for local operations (Mumbai and Pune region)
● Align vehicle supply with fluctuating demand, ensure on‐time placement and reduce
empty kilometers.
● Coordinate with plant head, logistics and dispatch team for timely scheduling and
execution.
Operations Management & Performance
● Lead and handle vehicle sourcing, dispatch, tracking, POD collection, and vendor
management.
● Optimize routes and vehicle utilization, and leveraging TMS/GPS tools
● Oversee incident resolution (breakdowns, delays, compliance issues) with swift
escalations.
● Manage freight cost budgets and vehicle expenses
● Drive cost‐saving initiatives via improved vehicle utilization and vendor optimization
● Ensure compliance with regional/state transport regulations, permits, safety, and
insurance norms.
● Implement safety SOPs, driver behavior checks, and maintenance schedules (for
Own fleets).
● Present monthly/quarterly reviews with recommendations for improvements.
