Job Summary :

Roles and Responsibilities:

 1.  IEC (Import Export Code):

       This 10-digit code, issued by the DGFT, is mandatory for anyone involved in import or export activities in India. You can apply for it online through the DGFT website. 

  • RCMC (Registration Cum Membership Certificate):

    This certificate, issued by Export Promotion Councils or other competent authorities, is often necessary for availing various export promotion schemes and benefits. 

2. Online Filing Process:

  • DGFT Website:

    The DGFT website (www.dgft.gov.in) is the primary platform for various export-related filings, including IEC registration and IEC profile management. 

  • ICEGATE:

    The Indian Customs Electronic Commerce/Electronic Data Interchange Gateway (ICEGATE) is used for online customs-related filings, such as submitting shipping bills and other necessary documents. 

  • GST Portal:

    For exports under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime, exporters need to furnish a Letter of Undertaking (LUT) on the GST portal (www.gst.gov.in). 

  • eBRC:

    The electronic Bank Realisation Certificate (eBRC) system, also accessible through the DGFT website, is used for electronically tracking export realizations. 

3. Key Steps:

  • IEC Application:

    Register on the DGFT website, provide necessary details, upload documents, and pay the application fee. 

  • RCMC Application:

    Apply to the relevant Export Promotion Council or competent authority, providing details about your mainstream business and other required information. 

  • LUT Filing:

    Access the GST portal, log in, navigate to the LUT filing section, and submit the required details and documentation. 

  • Customs Filing:

    Use the ICEGATE portal to file shipping bills and other required documents related to customs clearance. 

  • eBRC Self-Certification:

    Utilize the eBRC system on the DGFT website to self-certify and generate eBRCs based on inward remittances received from banks.
