Job Summary:
The Solar Site Engineer is responsible for on-site execution, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar power systems. The role includes coordination with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met with quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and execute installation of solar PV systems (rooftop/ground-mounted) as per design and layout.
Conduct site surveys, prepare site assessment reports, and assist in system design validation.
Ensure proper installation of modules, structures, inverters, cabling, and other system components.
Coordinate with electrical teams for AC/DC wiring, earthing, and protection system implementation.
Perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of installed systems.
Ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols on site.
Monitor daily work progress and maintain site documentation and reports.
Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely execution.
Provide technical support to O&M team during the handover and operation phase.
Ensure materials are available at site and report shortages or delays.
Requirements:
Education: ITI/Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil or related discipline.
Experience: 0.6–2 years in solar power project execution (rooftop or ground-mounted).
Knowledge of solar PV components, electrical wiring, and system configurations.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and layouts.
Familiarity with safety standards and electrical codes.
Hands-on experience in installation and commissioning.
Good communication and team coordination skills.
Willingness to travel and work at project sites.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with tools like multimeter, clamp meter, insulation tester, etc.
Knowledge of solar monitoring systems and remote diagnostics.
Understanding of net metering process and utility approvals.
