Job Summary :

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision and Coordination: Overseeing the work of junior officers and technical staff in the ore dressing division.
  • Mineral Beneficiation Experiments: Planning, coordinating, and conducting experiments in both laboratory and pilot plant settings to develop and refine techniques for raising the grade of ores and minerals.
  • Process Development: Developing and implementing efficient ore processing and mineral separation techniques, such as magnetic separation and gravity concentration.
  • Plant Operations: Overseeing the installation, operation, and optimization of ore dressing and mineral processing plants and equipment.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing mineral content and concentrate quality, and preparing detailed technical and project reports on milling and recovery of ores and minerals.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensuring that all mineral processing operations comply with relevant environmental and safety regulations.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with geologists, mining engineers, and other professionals to ensure an integrated approach to mineral resource management.
  • Consultancy: Providing technical consultancy services to the mining industry on various aspects of mineral processing and environmental considerations. 

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: A Master's degree in Ore Dressing, Mineral Processing, Geology, Chemistry, or Physics; alternatively, a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Mineral Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Metallurgy from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: Significant experience (typically 12 years or more) in a recognized laboratory or plant conducting mineral beneficiation and/or mineral characterization for various ores and minerals, with a portion of that time spent in a supervisory capacity.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in various processing techniques and industry-standard software, and effective project management abilities are essential.
