Job Summary

The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, sanitary fixtures, and related piping work. The role requires technical skills, site experience, safety awareness, and the ability to interpret drawings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Installation Work

• Install water supply lines, CPVC / UPVC / GI / HDPE pipes.
• Install sanitary fixtures such as washbasins, WCs, urinals, taps, showers, and kitchen sinks.
• Fix and connect valves, traps, pumps, geysers, and filtration systems.
• Install drainage and sewage lines as per the approved layout.
• Conduct pressure testing for water lines and leakage testing.

2. Maintenance & Repairs

• Identify and repair leaks, blockages, and faulty fittings.
• Replace defective taps, mixers, flush systems, and pipes.
• Repair pumps, motors, valves, and pressure control systems.
• Maintain regular service records and submit reports.

3. Technical Skills

• Read and interpret plumbing drawings, isometric diagrams, and material lists.
• Use plumbing tools such as pipe cutters, threading machines, welding tools, and testing equipment.
• Apply proper jointing methods: solvent welding, threading, compression joints, fusion welding, etc.

4. Safety & Quality

• Follow site safety rules and PPE guidelines.
• Ensure all plumbing work meets building codes and company standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and avoid material wastage.

5. Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and HVAC teams for smooth workflow.
• Check materials and report shortages to the supervisor.
• Provide daily work updates and ensure task completion within timelines.

Qualifications

• 12th pass/ ITI / Diploma in Plumbing or relevant field.
• Minimum 1–5 years of experience (adjustable as per requirement).
• Knowledge of modern plumbing materials and techniques.

• Good understanding of water supply and drainage systems.
• Ability to work with tools and equipment safely.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical fitness for site-based work.

Work Environment

• Construction sites, residential buildings, commercial projects, or industrial plants.
• Work may involve heights, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions.
