Position: Plumber

Reporting To : Site Engineer / Project Manager

Expected Salary: 30 - 32k +  (Net take home) + travelling allowance 4-5k

Job Summary 

A Bathroom Renovation Plumber is responsible for executing all plumbing-related tasks involved in remodeling or upgrading bathrooms. This includes dismantling old systems, installing new pipelines, sanitary fittings, fixtures, drainage systems, and ensuring the final installation meets quality, safety, and local plumbing standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Inspection & Planning

• Inspect the bathroom site and understand renovation drawings.
• Identify existing plumbing lines, water supply, and drainage layout.
• Coordinate with contractors, designers, and clients about project requirements.
• Estimate materials, tools, and manpower required.

2. Dismantling & Preparation

• Safely remove old plumbing fixtures, pipelines, and fittings.
• Check for leaks, blockages, or damage in existing lines.
• Prepare walls and floors for new plumbing installations.

3. Installation of New Plumbing Systems

• Install hot and cold water lines (CPVC, PPR, UPVC, copper etc.).
• Lay and connect drainage pipes (SWR, PVC).
• Create proper slopes for drainage to avoid blockages.
• Install valves, traps, filters, and other plumbing components.

4. Sanitary Fixture Installation

• Install wash basins, toilets, wall-hung WCs, bathtubs, showers, faucets, and accessories.
• Install shower panels, diverters, and mixer units.
• Ensure accurate leveling, alignment, and sealing of fixtures.

5. Waterproofing Coordination

• Work with waterproofing team to ensure plumbing areas are properly treated.
• Test for leak-tightness before concealing or tiling.

6. Testing & Quality Checks

• Perform pressure tests for all water lines.
• Check drainage flow and trap functionality.
• Identify and rectify leakages or installation issues.
• Ensure all fittings meet industry standards and client expectations.

7. Finishing Work

• Install final fixtures after tiling is completed.
• Seal joints with silicone or required materials.
• Ensure neat, clean, and damage-free installation.

8. Compliance & Safety

• Follow plumbing codes, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

9. Documentation & Reporting

• Update daily progress reports to the contractor/supervisor.
• Record any changes, material needs, or unexpected issues.

Skills & Qualifications

• 12th pass /Diploma/ITI in Plumbing or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in bathroom or residential plumbing work.
• Knowledge of modern fixtures, materials, and plumbing technologies.
• Ability to read technical drawings and execute precisely.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and team coordination.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift moderate loads and work in confined spaces.
• Comfortable with drilling, cutting, bending pipes, and overhead work.

Optional Add-On Responsibilities

• Assisting in tile cutting around plumbing points.
• Coordinating with electricians for geyser and lighting points.
• Guiding clients on fixture selection.
