Key Responsibilities

• Programming/Adjustments: Load pre-written programs, make adjustments to offsets and feeds/speeds to ensure accuracy.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers) to meet, often tight, tolerances.
• Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, coolant checks) and adhere to safety regulations.
• Documentation: Record production data and maintain accurate logs. 

• Machine Operation & Setup: Load and unload raw materials, set up tools, and run CNC machinery (mills, lathes, etc.).
• Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD designs to set specification.

Job Requirements & Skills

• Experience: Usually 1-5 years of experience with CNC machinery, often requiring familiarity with specific software.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, understanding CNC programming, and using measuring tools.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving minor machine issues.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with technical training or certifications (e.g., NIMS) being a plus.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, work in a fast-paced environment, and lift heavy materials. 

Typical Work Environment
CNC operators work in manufacturing facilities and machine shops, often working in shifts (day/evening) and with potential for overtime.
