An electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, fixtures, and control systems. They interpret technical blueprints, use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building regulations. 
 

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, lighting, switches, sockets, and control systems.
• Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to plan the safe placement of outlets, panels, and fixtures.
• Running conduits, pulling cables, and connecting wiring for lighting, power, and control systems.
• Upgrading and installing new electrical equipment like circuit breakers, switchboards, and generators
• Install and replace electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, switchboards, distribution panels, motors, and generators.
• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Test electrical installations and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Use electrical testing tools and measuring instruments to identify and resolve issues.
