The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software applications and embedded software solutions for Defence, Aerospace, Homeland Security, and Strategic Electronics applications. The role requires strong expertise in software architecture, programming, system integration, and software lifecycle management while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance solutions.

Eligibility

• M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), Software Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electronics Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 5–10 years of relevant industry experience in software development, embedded software, application development, or defence software systems.
• Experience in software design, development, testing, integration, and deployment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Strong proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, Python, or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Experience in embedded software development, real-time operating systems (RTOS), Linux, and Windows environments.
• Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, multithreading, and object-oriented design principles.
• Hands-on experience with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, and serial communication.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git, SVN, or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with software testing, debugging, static code analysis, unit testing, integration testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or SQLite is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with Defence, Aerospace, Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, or Strategic Electronics applications is preferred.
• Understanding of secure coding practices, software quality standards, and software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with technical documentation, code reviews, root cause analysis, and configuration management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, integrate, deploy, and maintain software applications and embedded software solutions for Defence, Aerospace, Homeland Security, and Strategic Electronics projects.
• Develop high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable software using industry best practices.
• Perform software integration, verification, validation, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Design and implement communication interfaces, APIs, networking modules, and embedded communication protocols.
• Analyze software requirements and prepare software architecture, detailed design, and implementation plans.
• Troubleshoot software defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, systems, quality assurance, production, and customer support teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Prepare software design documents, technical specifications, test plans, validation reports, and user documentation.
• Ensure compliance with defence, aerospace, cybersecurity, software quality, and industry standards.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior software engineers by providing technical guidance and best practices.
• Support customer acceptance testing, system integration, field deployment, and post-deployment technical support.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality, reliability, security, and development efficiency.
