We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented VMC Programmer cum Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines to manufacture precision components in accordance with engineering drawings and production specifications. The role requires a strong understanding of CNC programming, machining processes, quality standards, and safety procedures to ensure optimal productivity and product quality.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs for VMC machines using CAM software or manual G-code programming.
• Set up VMC machines, including fixture installation, tool loading, workpiece alignment, and machine calibration.
• Operate VMC machines to manufacture precision components within specified tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, machining parameters, and tool offsets.
• Conduct first-piece inspections and make necessary program or offset adjustments.
• Perform in-process quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and dial indicators.
   

Qualifications : ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machinist, Tool & Die Making, or a related technical discipline.
 

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of CNC programming, including G & M Codes.
• Hands-on experience with CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidCAM, PowerMill, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Good understanding of cutting tools, machining parameters, feeds, speeds, and tool offsets.
• Familiarity with CNC controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Haas.
• Knowledge of precision machining practices and quality inspection methods.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
