Picker Associate in BigBasket is mainly responsible for picking customer orders accurately and preparing them for packing/dispatch.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for picking, handling, loading and unloading products/orders, ensuring product quality and order accuracy, arranging products for dispatch, and supporting timely order fulfillment as per BigBasket SOPs.

1. Order Picking
   • Pick products from the store/warehouse as per the customer order.
   • Follow the picking list or handheld device/system.
   • Ensure the correct product, quantity, size and variant are picked.
2. Product Quality Check
   • Check the product condition before picking.
   • Ensure fresh and good-quality products are selected, especially Fruits & Vegetables (F&V).
   • Avoid damaged, expired, leaking or poor-quality products.
3. Order Accuracy
   • Ensure minimum picking errors and maintain order accuracy.
   • Verify products before handing them over for packing.
4. Packing & Handover Support
   • Place picked products at the designated packing area.
   • Coordinate with the packing team for smooth order processing.
   • Ensure products are handled carefully to avoid damage.
5. Inventory/Location Awareness
   • Identify product locations and pick products according to the assigned zone.
   • Inform the supervisor about missing, unavailable or misplaced products.
6. System & Process Compliance
   • Use the company-provided handheld device/system for order processing.
   • Follow BigBasket SOPs, safety guidelines and operational processes.
7. Team Coordination
   • Coordinate with Team Leaders, Store Incharge, Packers and other associates.
   • Support the team during high-order-volume periods.
8. Maintaining Workplace Standards
   • Maintain cleanliness and proper product handling in the assigned area.
   • Follow safety and hygiene standards.
